Source: Rams to start work on deal
|
The St. Louis Rams and quarterback Sam Bradford's representatives are scheduled to meet Friday in St. Louis, according to a league source.
It is thought to be their first face-to-face meeting since the Rams selected Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick. The two sides spoke before the draft, but could not complete a deal and tabled talks.
Whenever Bradford signs -- and nobody expects him to miss much, if any, training camp -- the deal will include the most guaranteed money in an NFL contract.

Seattle Seahawks Rumors Pete Carroll's Seahawks were interested in Haynesworth
When it appeared more likely that the Redskins would attempt to get rid of Albert Haynesworth before next season, the Seattle Seahawks were often mentioned as a potential destination. Turns out the Seahawks were actively researching Haynesworth to see whether they wanted to add the lineman.
"We started the process, because we thought maybe they weren't gonna be able to come to a deal and they were gonna make him available," Carroll said Thursday on the LaVar and Dukes Show. "But it didn't work out that way."
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio latched onto Carroll's admission of interest, pointing out that this could be a violation of the league's anti-tampering policy. Florio quotes the policy like so: Seahawks may deal, but not for Brown SEAN JENSEN The Bears have talked with the Seattle Seahawks about acquiring guard Rob Sims, a restricted free agent. But contrary to a published report, the Seahawks aren't interested in trading Sims for defensive end Alex Brown, two sources close to the situation said. Seahawks looking for a quarterback Danny O'Neil Seneca Wallace's addition to Cleveland precipitated quarterback Derek Anderson's departure from the Browns. Could Wallace's departure from Seattle leave a vacancy that Anderson could fill? Seahawks interview Rams' assistant coach Art Valero, an assistant offensive line coach for the St. Louis Rams, has interviewed with the Seattle Seahawks, according to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Valero, 51, presumably would be seeking the same position with Seattle, given Pete Carroll already has hired veteran offensive line coach Alex Gibbs.
