Source: Rams to start work on deal
|
The St. Louis Rams and quarterback Sam Bradford's representatives are scheduled to meet Friday in St. Louis, according to a league source.
It is thought to be their first face-to-face meeting since the Rams selected Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick. The two sides spoke before the draft, but could not complete a deal and tabled talks.
Whenever Bradford signs -- and nobody expects him to miss much, if any, training camp -- the deal will include the most guaranteed money in an NFL contract.

Baltimore Ravens Rumors Rosenhaus: T.O. unlikely to be headed to Ravens
Free-agent wide receiver Terrell Owens isn't expected to join the Ravens this season, agent Drew Rosenhaus said on ESPN's NFL Live on Friday.
"The Ravens are not one of the teams that I would bank on at this time, nor are we having any discussions with them," Rosenhaus said. "I wouldn't bank on seeing Terrell in a Ravens uniform."
The Ravens appear set at wide receiver with Anquan Boldin, Derrick Mason, Donte' Stallworth, Mark Clayton and rookie David Reed. The early line on defensive linemen Even though two defensive linemen could be taken in the first three picks, there is a good chance that an appealing one will fall to the Ravens near the bottom of the first round next week. Penn State's Jared Odrick, the consensus No. 3 defensive tackle in the draft, fits the personality of the Ravens' defense. In commenting on Odrick's high-energy play and toughness, one team official recently said, "He plays like a Raven." Pricing a new kicker If the Ravens decide to sign Shayne Graham as a challenger or successor to incumbent kicker Billy Cundiff, they at least have the parameters on the cost. Two other free-agent kickers, Jay Feely and Neil Rackers, recently signed two-year deals for better than $1.5 million. Floyd would be good catch for Ravens Mike Preston There are a number of options the Ravens might pursue to get a No. 1 receiver, but the best way to get a strong return on their investment is to sign the San Diego Chargers' Malcom Floyd. Certainly, there are more popular choices - San Diego's No. 1 receiver Vincent Jackson, the Denver Broncos' Brandon Marshall and the Dallas Cowboys' Miles Austin - but it's unlikely the Ravens will be able to sign any of those three for various reasons. Brandon Marshall no longer on Ravens' radar It appears the Ravens interest in disgruntled Denver receiver Brandon Marshall is just about over. It started disappearing the moment Derrick Mason appeared at training camp, and was just about gone once Mason stepped on the field Sunday morning.
